My Very First Granny Square!

For as long as i can remember I have always admired the gorgeous crocheted “Granny Rugs”. I have held them close. I have inspected them with my curious eyes and mind, trying to figure out how the intricate pattern was woven.
It has only taken me some 30+ years to finally delve into the world of [...]

Along with our [...]

Blankets of Friendship

On Ravelry a lady named Dawn (Ozifarmer on Rav) began with an idea to help a friend who had lost her home in the recent devastating Victorian bushfires.
But what began with a simple idea has become an Australia wide project. Thanks to Ravelers and some air time on ABC radio people all over Australia are [...]

Choir of Hard Knocks

We were lucky to attend a free community concert in Violet Town this evening to see the well known, Choir of Hard Knocks.
Most of us first heard about them from the documentary on the ABC which aired some 2 years ago. Since the airing of the documentary the choir has been performing all around Australia.
It [...]

We are not so different!

In tragic times, the distance between mankind and the animal kingdom disappears. There is a realisation that we are not so different.
We are just all species on this planet trying to survive.
Seeing another living thing is a sign of hope and help is accepted.
Hands are held and eyes connect…an awareness is shared.
This video warms my [...]
